This confessional book, written
with British biographer Clifford Thurlow, for the first time tells
the story of Carlos Lozano, a Colombian actor who arrived in Paris
in 1969. Dalí found work for him as a dancer in the musical
Hair and the two men remained friends for the next 25 years. Dalí
taught Carlos the intricacies of art and culture, took him to brothels
and gay bars, together they organised orgies and grand fiestas.
These highly-acclaimed memoirs chart this endless journey and answer,
among other puzzles, the unlikely question: “What do Yul Brynner,
Marcel Duchamp and a former King of Spain have in common?"
Just a month before his death on 20th July 2000, Carlos Lozano launched
his memoirs at the Dalí Universe in a party hosted by Lady
Moyne, and attended by over 400 guests.
