This
book puts the reader in the middle of the chance meeting of Enric
Sabater and Salvador Dalí in the summer of 1968, an encounter
resulting in a 17-year "Surrealist holiday" with Dalí
and his wife Gala.
Sabater became both confidant and protector and the text reveals
this closeness to the artist through Dalí’s illness.
The friction between Sabater and Gala led to a parting of company
and only now has the silence been broken and the story told. Sabater
has painted a very human picture of this mythical figure, one of
the sacred masters of 20th century art.
