Surreal Chocolate Dalí Exhibition
FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 28th September 2004
Dalí
Universe on London’s South Bank celebrates Chocolate week
with an edible Dalí centenary tribute exhibition.
Dalí
Universe and food artist Prudence Emma Staite have come together
to celebrate chocolate week in the centenary year of Salvador Dalí’s
birth with a Dalí inspired chocolate exhibition.
Prudence
Emma Staite will create an interactive installation inside Dalí
Universe, with chocolate recreations of some of Dalí’s
most iconic works, including Persistence of Memory and Space Venus,
visible along the South Bank.
The
exhibition is a chocoholic’s dream, made almost entirely of
chocolate in a specially created visually fascinating chocolate
style room, which smells and tastes delicious.
Chocolate
week is a celebration of fine chocolate taking place between 4th
– 10th October. Chocolate enthusiasts will be in their element
with a host of events UK wide devoted to the most indulgent and
sensual food.
Andrea
Pedroni, Managing Director of County Hall Gallery said:
“Dalí
had a unique relationship with food that infiltrated much of his
works; at Dalí Universe we have some of the most iconic examples
of this including the Lobster Telephone, Buste de Femme Retrospectif,
and various works with the melting clock, which Dalí developed
from melting Camembert cheese.”
Dalí
Universe is the world’s largest collection of Dalí
Sculptures with over 500 works covering 50 years of surrealism including
graphics, illustrations, watercolours, furniture and crystal. The
Dalí tribute exhibition is free with a ticket to the Dalí
Universe exhibition.
