Picasso exhibition opens at County Hall Gallery

Picasso an excusive
collection of over 200 rare and unseen works from the 20th Century’s
landmark artist, Pablo Ruiz Picasso.
This exhibition
features important works spanning 3 decades of his career, including
ceramics, breathtaking tapestries, lithographs and etchings. These
are accompanied by photographs taken by the world renowned photographer
Andre Villars.

Etchings
and Lithographs A major feature of this collection, including
the works Portrait Imaginaires, J. Cocteau, La Tauromaquia and Le
Chef d’oeuvre inconnu. Created at the height of Picasso’s
fame these series of images illustrate Picasso’s unparalleled
artistic prowess and mastery of graphic techniques.
Ceramics
Created by Picasso whilst at the famed Madoura pottery
in France combines the art of sculpture and painting into one single
creative expression. The ceramics in the exhibition bears testament
to Picasso’s highly original form of expression.
Tapestries
A collection of rarely viewed wall tapestries created from world-famous
and iconic cubist images taken from the collection inherited by
the artist’s granddaughter, Marina Picasso. These wall tapestries
depict some of the most important themes of Picasso’s illustrious
career.
Photography
Featuring 60 photographs of Picasso taken by Andre Villars.
Villars was one of the artist’s favourite photographers; and
was bestowed the honour of capturing intimate shots of Picasso at
work in his studio and at home.
Exhibited
in County Hall Gallery alongside the unique Dali Universe exhibition,
this exhibition offers visitors an unforgettable overview of the
two 20th Century giants of Spain’s artistic legacy.
